The Strep Caboose

I think we've reached the end of the rash of strep in this house--and I mean that literally, HA! After being at the hospital for clinical on Tuesday, my being seen at the clinical on Wednesday, and running Beckett out to Urgent Care on Thursday, I thought we were done when all looked good on Friday!! NOT. Paxton woke up from a very lengthy nap on Saturday afternoon feeling, you guessed it, pretty crappy =( Fever, sore throat--you don't have to tell this nurse what that means!! Back out we went! After a trip to Wal-mart's pharmacy (and a Spongebob Squarepant thermometer, THAT tripped the alarm when we were leaving, later) I truly think we are done with this round, fingers crossed!! I did tell Kurt that if he came down with it, he was driving himself out to that campus because 4 trips in 5 days was enough for me!!

Momma & Boys datenight

Since I am not a Black Friday shopper, my big venture out of the house yesterday was to take the little boys to see Disney's Tangled. This was the 50th animated film put out by Walt Disney Studios and it delivered =) The boys loved it and I enjoyed it a lot too, except for what it cost--YIKES!! As I was buckling Beckett into his carseat afterwards, he asked if we could stop at Walmart and get Tangled on DVD!!

Thanksgiving at Urgent Care

Well, not the whole day and for nothing major, thank fortune! Yesterday afternoon Beckett was showing the same strep symptoms that I was, so a quick call to our family physician resulted in him beginning antibiotics along with Momma. This morning, he came in for some snuggles and Kurt and I noticed the telltale signs of a rash. Oh joy. Since we weren't sure if it was an allergic reaction or not, that meant we needed to see a Dr. Since it was a holiday, that meant our only option was the hospital--Ugh. He was a trooper though and the Dr we saw told us it was a strep rash, AKA Scarlet Fever. Nothing to worry about, keep taking the ABX for the strep throat and he'd be just fine =)

Strep Throat

Boooooo-hiisssssss!! Yup Momma has a nice case of Strep Throat =( "Luckily" I developed a life-threatening allergy to Penicillan several years ago, and now when I need an antibiotic, my Dr prescribed a "Z-pack" so I can take 6 pills over 5 days instead of 40 pills in 10 days!

With lots of rest today and my beloved Zpack, I hope my appetite is 100% for turkey day tomorrow =)

Harry Potter!!!

My Mom and I saw the much-awaited HP 7 part 1, the Deathly Hallows tonight =) Of course we liked it and now July seems SO far away--that's when part 2 debuts!

Waterpark Fun!

Just a few random shots of the fun we had in the Dells last weekend. Has it been a full week already?!

Sweet Hubby & Arielle & IL's & Mom

So this past weekend we were in the Dells while Kurt had meetings and the kids and I hit the waterpark. Once we were back in the room, Arielle was a HUGE help to me in putting the finishing touches on my patho/phys paper for my Grand Rounds--I mean SUPER HUGE =)

When we got home on Sunday night, Kurt took charge of the little boys so I could get my display board all assembled for my presentation on Monday. Arielle also ran over to my parents so I could print (again) all of the items I needed for the big project. On Monday night Kurt's parents kept the little boys so I could get it alllllllll together for the big day. WHEW!

Lugging it all downstairs on Tuesday, I was greeted by the sight of a dozen yellow roses--a good luck bouquet from Kurt =) The good news is, it's all over except for the grading!
