Fast, Fun and Frugal Scarf Project!
Say THAT 3 times fast--HA!! I TOTALLY got the idea for these darling scarves from one of the blogs I follow--she's listed on my blogroll to the right, Make it and Love it. I've had so much trouble making links within my posts lately =( Besides, you cannot just look at ONE of her projects, this gal has some seriously cool ideas. Especially for little girls =)
I bought this fabric when Arielle and I made that ill-fated trip to Hobby Lobby and whipped them up later that week, they REALLY work up fast!! Again, if you can sew straight lines, you can do this! Ashley does the step by step tutorial on how to put this little lovely together, so drool all over mine, wipe your chin and then go check out her blog!!

Menu Planning Monday

Wow, Monday's come around super fast for SO many reasons now--HA! Kurt is going to be gone for a couple of days this week, that accounts for a few "lazy" meals. I haven't fully decided WHAT I'm going to do on a particular day or two, but having the meat ready to go (thawed!) is the biggest part, right?! As usual, I'm linking up with and I see that I will be link #461, so seriously--you NEED to pop over there to see the other great menus that are happening in blogland this week! For us:
Monday: I have class, the boys mooch at Grandma's!
Tuesday: Chix nuggets and fries
Wednesday: Possibly Hamburger Helper--copout or what?!
Thursday: Ham, potatoes, beans
Friday: Chicken Fried cube steaks, pasta side, veggie
Saturday: Beef Roast in the crock pot with taters and carrots
Sunday: Chicken prepared somehow--still deciding!

Building a better mousetrap?!
Is it even possible to improve on Hasbro's 1963 invention? Nah, probably not!! (however, Parker DID notice that the board graphics had changed from the version that he and Arielle played several years ago!) Santa brought Paxton this classic game and we christened it the other night with an exciting round. Beckett was mostly interested in turning that crank to kick the boot. Paxton just got giddy watching each piece fall into place. And Parker was in charge of dispensing each piece as needed. Although we didn't stay true to all of the printed directions, we had a ball and that's all that counts, right?!

What's for Supper Saturday
A few weeks ago in my very first Meal Planning venture, Pepsi chicken was on the menu. I had several requests for the recipe and here it finally is!! Enjoy =)
One whole chicken, cut up (I actually used bone-in breasts this time)
1 C ketchup
2 Tbls worchestershire sauce
garlic salt
1 12-oz can of cola (PEPSI in this house)
Mix all ingredients except the chicken. Place chicken in a large skillet and pour sauce over the top. Simmer on stove for 45-60 minutes until the chicken is done. I always serve over rice, but pasta would work too!!
PS, yes I know the chicken got away from me a bit--watch a little closer than this as time ticks down!!

If you can sew a straight line...
...you can whip up some seriously CUTE burp cloths to give as baby gifts. OR, make em' to keep at your own house for your own little burper! I got a head start on these because I started with a pack of one dozen "pre-made" diapers, purchased at Wal-mart, Target, K-mart--pick your pleasure. Then it was a small (HA!) matter of picking some fabric at Hobby Lobby, ribbon optional--as you can see, some of my creations got some, others didn't. Then just cut your fabric a little bigger than the area you want to end up being covered. Fold and pin then stitch away!! I used white for my bobbin thread and co-ordinating thread on top.
I would LOVE to be able to embroider monograms onto these, but alas, no monogramming capabilities on my machine. They are darn cute even without the monogram, I think--how about you?
