Parker is 15 =)

OK, he's been 15 since early July, but with the summer that we had, his birthday was finally "celebrated" when we did Beckett's party. Unfortunately, he really STUNK at giving me a good picture of him on Sunday!!! He got some gifts earlier--a new stand golf bag, membership to the country club, new clubs (see a pattern here?), but he was able to open some new clothes, club covers, rain gloves--for golfing, among other things. (the boy has pretty much ONE thing on his mind!)

Happy Birthday, Beckett!!

Our baby boy is FOUR now!! I really can't believe it. We did his party on Sunday, and he had a wonderful time (family only---we aren't to "friend" parties yet!) He got some Cars items, a few games, some darling clothes (Mom's favorite!), his usual savings bond (practical Grandma!) and a BIKE!! Too bad it was such a cold and gray day that he didn't get to take it right outside and master it =)

Saturday Night Supper

This is an EASY, YUMMY, MUST-TRY dinner! I present Pork Tenderloin Diane:
One whole pork tenderloin, cut into medallions
lemon pepper
butter
1 Tbs lemon juice
1 Tbs worchestershire sauce
1 tsp dijon mustard
parsley
Place the medallions between wax paper and give them a bang with the heel of your hand to flatten slightly. Sprinkle both sides with lemon pepper and place in non-stick pan with melting butter. Brown pork evenly on both sides, move to platter and keep warm.
Combine lemon juice, worchestershire and mustard in pan, stir until smooth, heat through. Return pork to the pan and re-warm pork and the sauce will infuse with the meat. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
I did mashed taters to go with this--this cooks up FAST, so start your taters early or do as I did and cheat with an instant packet! I actually increase the sauce ingredients to create more of it so there is plenty to spoon over the smashed taters.

Remember the pink fabric?

Here is the finished project--along with a buddy! The three pinks have morphed into a kitty blanket (an Xmas gift for Miss Piper, Kurt's cousins little one) and I liked the way it turned out, so back to JoAnn's I went and bought NINE different fabrics to make a matching puppy blanket for Carson, Piper's brother! I have to wash and dry them a couple of times to really soften all of the snipped edges, but even without that step I'm pretty happy with how they look =)

Dear Great Pumpkin,

The other night, Parker walked into the living room and I hear this: "What are you two doing?". Which can be a VERY bad thing. So I headed for the living room, camera around neck (by chance--I had just taken some pics of some projects) and I see Paxton and Beckett at the table, paper and writing utensils at their fingertips with Paxton looking at Parker like he is some kind of moronic alien and said in his very best "DUH" voice "We're writing to the Great Pumpkin"!
The boys have fallen in love with the Peanuts Gang! Grandma bought them a DVD of the Easter special and then they discovered some old Peanuts books that used to be Kurt's and they have moved into heavy rotation of book reading =)

1st Grade=HOMEWORK

UGH! Now granted, it's not HARD homework (even for Paxton), but the HARD part is just getting it done! This kid is a 3rd generation procrastinator, and I'm thinking that the trait strengthens as it transcends each era. Once he sits down and resigns himself (with or without "encouragement") it's usually a pretty quickly done deal--but MAN, GETTING there is 7/8's of the battle.
Any great tips that anyone has for this we'd gladly attempt here!!!
