Lunch and Learn

So occasionally myself or another co-worker will bring the makings for a couple of cards to work and have "lunch and learns". I brought the "fixins" for two today and this is one of them. The other wouldn't photograph without a glare, so only one to bore you with =)

An Absolute 180

There was a time, not so long ago, when Paxton absolutely HATED to have his hair cut. I felt SO bad for the stylist who had to face him, there is no way that they were taught to deal with a client like Paxton when they were in cosmetology school--NO WAY. Taking him out of the house for a haircut was likened to taking the dog to the vet for his neutering appointment (if we had a dog--Paxton was enough). It finally got to the point where Kurt bought a kiddie home clipper kit (we could spare the public from the ordeal, and the way he fidgeted during the trim, we could do no worse in the results department!)

His haircut before school started went so well that I was thinking a DNA test was in order to make certain this was really our kid! I'd been hinting for a couple of days that he really needed another trim that was met with "no, I don't need a haircut now". Tonight he was playing cars, stopped suddenly and approached me with "Mom! You need cut my hair now!". No need to tell me twice! He even agreed to cooperate with some pictures for the blog =)

When the Cat's Away...

Paxton will play! It's a good thing Parker doesn't follow my blog, because he'd have a stroke seeing Paxton play with his gameboy. Notice "someone" got out of the house without making his bed.

Not the Ideal Photo Subject!

Grandpa tried to get a few pictures of Beckett on Halloween with part of his costume (from earlier posts, you know it's the one he never wore!) and these were the 3 shots he got off. Sigh...

I voted!

I'll do anything to make it stop! The ad's, the phone calls, the attacks--they all end tonight, right?! I was at the Armory nice and early this morning and a line was stretching down the block. Just as the boob behind me lit up a smokey-treat (when will Wisconsin get on THAT bandwagon?), some workers came out to tell us that lines for District 2 and 4 were inside so I ditched stinky-butt and got in a much shorter line! There were about 15 in line when I got in and probably 50 when I left. I spent my time texting people to remind them to vote =)

Tonight is class, so I will not be glued to the TV all night. I've done what I can, there's nothing left to do but wait for Matt Lauer to give me the results tomorrow morning!

Aren't they Cute?

And because none of my friends inside the computer know what my hubby looks like--I'm sharing this one. My SIL Michelle took this at a family wedding and it's probably about as good as it gets of me...

HA(!)lloween...

Against my initial (and as it turns out, better) judgement, I thought I'd give the American tradition of trick or treat a try. We had a "dry run" on Wednesday and since it was 70+ degrees today, you couldn't ask for a better night weather-wise. We were going to start at Grandma and Grandpa's, do their street and see how it went. It didn't. They got going on some favorites at G&G's, refused to put on costumes even though it meant that candy-grubbing wouldn't happen without it. They were only interested in a rendition of drive-in movies, so Mom came home to update the blog and do a little homework.
